National Debt Clock - NYC - $ sign..Move Over!

This is amazing! I used to look at this clock in the early 1990s near 42nd St. and 6th Avenue largely because The Clinton administration had inherited a recession from Bush Number 1. I believe the late real estate mogul; Seymour Durst came up with the idea and financed the the clock. The clock is now further west on 42nd Street.

Now the digital clock does not have enough digital space holders to demonstrate the U.S. national debt teetering over 10 Trillion dollars! On 30 September 2008, the total U.S. federal debt passed the $10 trillion mark. [and I thought $700 billion dollars was a lot of money!] Whoaa..! ~ How does one (i.e. Government) consolidate that debt when they are telling me to take measures on my own personal debt! Go figure! Not sure about the mathematics and variables used to come up with the figure the clock displays. If anyone knows; then please post in the comments. Maybe this publicly, contributed to WIKI can help

Latest BBC report on the clock.
