Canadian Internet Media Journalist Amber Mac

Internet spokeswoman and and a post-year 2000 web portal advocate Amber MacArthur (affectionately called..Amber Mac) blessed New York City with her presence yesterday. She took an opportunity on a personal visit to invite some of her internet contacts for a Meet-Up in Manhattan’s Times Square area. Her Mom, her Toronto roommate and her roommate’s mom was part of the meet-up also!

Also hosted by Natali Del Conte; the afterwork drinkfest/tech babble was actually..relaxing. Although I never met any of the people there face-to-face; it felt that we all knew each other. We were all linked out love of Tech and the fabulous tools of the Internet. Amber, our favorite North American geek personality with the radiant smile treated all first-time meeters like me with the same respect and attention as her old time friends that were in attendance also!

I first encountered Amber Mac in episodes of ‘Call For Help’ with the Netcast/Tech radio boss daddy … Leo Laporte in late 2004. This was possible because I was a follower of Leo. A few tech riggings allowed me to watch his show beamed only for the Canadian audience. Ahem..I lived in New York City!

Eventually, keeping up with her led me to her Video Podcast ‘Command-N’ in 2005, which I still watch today on my iPhone! I was a big listener of her valuable analyzing; suggestions and interviews of the latest [Web 2.0] on the TwitCast called ‘Inside the Net’. This led to me following her Canadian CTV exploits on WebNation and CP24.

I currently enjoy her and my main man Leo Laporte on the podcast called ‘net@nite’.
